MISUNDERSTOOD CULTURAL FRAGMENTS
Susan Tomory
How often do we hear: Try it once, try it twice and if it does not work, drop the effort and start something new.
We are trying to solve humanity’s problems through wars since the beginning of historical times. To be more correct: we refuse to go futher back, to the time when there were no wars, just the happy days of the Golden age, and start counting the times of history with the first noted murder, when Kain killed his brother Abel through sheer jealousy. In other words, we count our historial times with the noted fratricide. And this example did not remain isolated, many followed Kain’s steps with similar actions: Romulus and Remus, the Roman founding twins, where Remus kills his brother after founding Rome. The Egyptian Set kills his brother Osiris. Within the Ottoman Empire, the easy solution of power succession was that the coming Sultan had to kill all his brothers, the potential contenders. Here we are even moving up a step on this killer spree, which by now engulfs the entire globe. Here it has even become encoded in law.
Later mankind went after the „non brothers”, like against the American Indians in America, who were considered Scythians and worthy to kill by none other, than Cotton Mather, a priest. The sanctification of killing thus became common place and elevated to a global status as far as wars are concerned by blessing the arms, by the so called Christian churches of our days. Outright cruelty was attached to the killing law, killing beliefs in Christian actions, like the inquisition, or kingly orders in the most Christian Empires.
Every aspect of murder, which began with Kain as fratricide has been tried through the suffering of millions of innocents. Where did it lead? – to more wars, more suffering.
But where did it all begin? Was the concept of the early twins’ sibling rivalry turning sour – or does it have a deeper meaning?
But why is all this connected with twins? Who were the ancient prototypes?
Did anyone think of the Twin constellation?
If not, it is time to do so.
In my earlier writings you will find many references to the fact, that the roots of Europe’s culture, language and history lead us to the ancient culture of the Magyars. You may like to look up some of these connections in Adorján Magyar’s writings in this homepage.
All of history within this culture began with God and in heaven. The entire Universe was God’s Kingdom, and its representative was their mythical Miracle Stag, Stag of Shine, who carried the Sun between his antlers, the Venus on his forehead, the Moon on his chest, and all the stars glittered on the tip of his antlers and on every strand of his fur. As the Universe was considered God’s song and its harmony, his messenger tought the people with the Song of Universe.
The Sun’s name was Mag (seed) and Magor – Lord of the Seeds, whose children, the Magyars were a settled, agricultural people to whom the Light and Life-giving force and father figure was always present. The Sun shone onto everyone supporting all life on this earth.
And the twin? – As Magor was the body of the Sun and his life-giving energy, the later concept of his twin Hunor was the symbol of the rays of the Sun, which nurture, but can also kill, like the harmful bacteria, etc.
This dual role is represented in their names.
Mag – the life giving Sun – the reciprocal of this name Kan, or Kam is the penetrating force of sunrays. During later history he was elevated to the status of Mag’s twin brother: Sun and the rays of Sun. This is the beginning of the Twin saga, which continued in a very corrupted form in later cultures.
The Twin prototype is based on this huge misunderstanding concerning the dual nature of our sun, and an ancient legend of an ancient culture.
There is no fratricide, no discrimination, no murder in God’s name. There is universal harmony and love. These connections are so deep seated in the peoples’ memory, that they even became integral part of their language structure too: Ég – Egy – Ige – Igaz – Mag – Magyar (God, One, Word of God, Truth, seed –Magyar). Another word root tells us about our connection with the love of God: Szer – szerez – szeret (covenant, creation, love). According to this –God’s covenant is creation and love.
We have tried peace by arms and democracy at gunpoint through millions of years and it is more than obvious, that this effort does not help. The results are the opposite of what is intended, and getting worse with each age.
On the other hand: only one life-time has proven the success of Truth and Love that was able to get rid of the very strong British Empire in India. These forces were given by God for us to use.
It is time to do so.

In closing I continue with Adorján Magyar’s words taken from one of his letters concerning Magyar Mythology in my translation:
„If we take into consideration, that the Magyars are the remnants of Europe’s pre-Arian, culture founding ancient society, we will find many very interesting connections:
We have to realize that the origin saga of the Romans, with the twins Romulus and Remus, and their abduction of Sabine women is nothing more than the ancient Magyar legend of the twins Magor and Hunor, which is the corrupted version established by the later, more sanguine peoples’ taste, who even attached as decoration a bloody fratricide to it.
But there are the Twins among Greco-Roman stars with no sense or explanation at all. Nobody was thinking of the fact that they may be Magor and Hunor. There is the constellation Aquarius, into which Capricorn merges with its fish-tail, in other words the Capricorn constellation. Nobody will think of the Magyar folk star-system’s „Fish-Lake”, or „Lake” into which the Miracle Stag comes grazing on the tender shoots of young reeds, which too are slightly altred ancient legends. Neither does anyone know why the Magyar folk song continues at this point with the words: „Let him graze nicely, let him graze nicely” – which words are a transition toward the legend of Magor and Hunor and their wedding... They begin to chase the Stag of Shine, since they could not find any other animals or birds to hunt. But they could not hunt down the Stag of Shine, their arrows cannot reach him. Few know that in ancient times the Goat and the Stag of Shine was also the symbol of desire for love and the words „Chasing the Stag of Shine” means a desire for love. Neither do people remember that according to our minstrel songs this Stag of Shine emerges from behind the clouds. The reason for this is: the location of the entire Magyar origin saga was the sky, or even closer: the illustration of the Magyar origin saga was the sky, and the stars.
But in later legends, as in the legend of Romulus and Remus there is not a trace of the Sky, even though there is the constellation Twins in Roman astrology. The Romans bring these twins into connection with Castor and Pollux, who too, were twins, but from this legend the motif of nation-founding is missing. So we have to conclude that both the Romulus-Remus and the Castor and Pollux legends are broken remnants. (......)
Even less indication shows the understanding that the Stag of Shine was sent by God, or the Great Eternal Law to the young men, helping them to find the girls: Magor Sungod to the Fairy Ilona – mother Earth, so the history of mankind may begin.
There is the Archer among the Greco-Roman constellation, in other words the Kentaur with arrows, but nobody realises that it is at this point the story of Magor and Hunor was degraded and this figure which originally represented Magor and Hunor chasing the Stag of Shine on horse-back. Neither does anyone know why the constellation Virgin is among the Greco-Roman stars? And why did the Dance of the Fairies constellation of Magyar astrology become a mystery?
The written chronicles, which erased all the magical attributes of the Stag of Shine state that Magor and Hunor find the girls at a dance. Who will remember that the Magyar people still talk about the Csallóköz, the island which was the earthly home of Fairy Ilona’s Fairyland from where the Magyar people originated, and which is the exact replica of the big island in the Heavenly White river’s Fairyland? This place is still called „Fehérköz”, White Island of which Magyar girls still sing:
Fairies have arrived
They came from White Island
They entered our courtyard
For pretty girls they looked.
Who will understand this? Not so long ago, at the Spring equinox, at the time when lilies of the valley bloom, the girls called one another for a visit, or dance outside, to which boys too arrived. This is all an ancient memory of happenings on the Fairy Island of Csallóköz and was illustrated in the stars. The girls decorated themselves reafs made with lily of the valley, and fairy costume of green leaves and ribbons.
And the heavenly White Island, or Csallóköz? The afore mentioned constellations of the Dance of the Fairies and the the Turning of Fairies are still there, awaiting a happier age, of which Ede Torockai Wiegand has written so beautifully.”
Adorján Magyar continues, that at this happening the young men and girls were „sang together” by the village elders, thus becoming a couple for life – serving Life.
And note: The establishment of families and the country, is still remembered in a living folk custom and practiced yearly.
The images painted by Adorján Magyar all carry significant mythological contents.
Ilona (Mother of Life) is the bride of Magor – Temise the bride of Hunor
Ilona’s flower: the lily of the valley, -- Temise’s falower the narcissus
